Life can be very competitive. Know what you up against. It’s unpredictable. It’s adventurous. It’s a journey. You can’t control it, so get use to the fact that it’s going to be plenty of ups and downs. The refs aren’t always going to call it fair. You’re going to miss shots. Your teammates aren’t always going to pass you the ball. You may not even get the playing time you deserve, but that’s no reason to quit. There’s plenty of game time left for you get gather yourself and turn this game around.
Be a good sport while playing this game of life. It’s also important to remember what Epictetus said, “It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” You can’t win if you don’t play.
“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up. –Babe Ruth
“Pain is only temporary, quitting lasts forever.” –Lance Armstrong
