Sometimes the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself. Steal away to your own secret place. In Episode #003 of BbetterTV my secluded place happened to be Ocean Isle, NC. Getting lost doesn’t have to include going somewhere lavish or expensive. Your getaway could be somewhere as simple as your own quiet corner of the library or a trail that you enjoy going cycling. It could be a cabin in the woods or a beach house owned by relatives or friends (sometimes you have to use your resources). Getting lost could even be as simple as losing yourself in a good book. The key to this message is taking your mind (and body) to a quiet place to recharge your battery. Go to a place where the world can’t reach you. Turn off your phone (or at least put it on silent) and power down your laptop. Your location should only be disclosed to your spouse or children, so people can’t bother you with those minor details of life that can wait. If your spouse and kids are the ones that bother you with those minor details, you’re gonna have to get creative.
Your getaway is your special place to clear your head. Leave the world behind for a few hours and you just might discover that it doesn’t stop running without you. Everyone could use a little down/quiet time. Recharge your battery. You’ll be that much more productive in the long run.
