“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.” -James Dean
Lately, I’ve been revisiting my bucket list. A bucket list is a list of all the adventurous and amazing (sometimes simplistic) things you desire to do before you die (a.k.a. kick the bucket). In 2007, Rob Reiner directed the film The Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. They were terminally ill patients that became friends while they were confined to the hospital. They leave the sickbay and set out to complete their bucket list. They begin traveling around the world skydiving, racing cars, climbing the pyramids, and doing many of the other things on Carter’s (Morgan Freeman) list.
Every chance we get, we must live life to the fullest. I was having a conversation with one of my groomsmen the other day and he asked, “Should I have a bucket list?” My response was, “You already have one, whether you know it or not. You have something you’ve always desired to do.” Driving on the Autobahn may be your lifelong dream. Maybe seeing your favorite pro sports team play a home game is something you’ve always envisioned. You may have always of wanted to watch the sunset off the coast of a foreign country or to drive a RV across the United States. My recommendation is that you put these goals down on paper and being to accomplish them. Why wait? If you’re anything like me, you’re sick of watching everyone else have all the fun. My bucket listis so important that I’ve created a page on my website dedicated to sharing my most personal dreams with you. When you look back on your life you won’t regret the times you failed nearly as much as the time you never even tried! Live life!
What’s on your bucket list?
